Loulwah K. Alothman

I joined the College of Dentistry at King Saud University and currently serve as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences. I received my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from King Saud University, followed by a Master of Science in Oral Biology with a focus on Craniofacial Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh. My training also included clinical experience in Oral Medicine at the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry and Lexington Veterans Hospital. I later completed my Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) and Clinical Certificate in Oral Medicine at King Saud University.

Throughout my academic career, I have been involved in teaching, research, clinical practice, and institutional service. My research interests include oral medicine, orofacial and neuropathic pain, craniofacial genetics, and translational biomedical research. I have also contributed to research in molecular biology, behavioral pharmacology, and interdisciplinary areas related to oral and systemic health.

In addition to my academic work, I have held several leadership and administrative roles at the College of Dentistry, including Infection Prevention and Control Supervisor, Head of the Innovation Unit, and Deputy Director of the Dental Clinics. I have also contributed to university initiatives in patient safety and interprofessional education.
