Faisal Kamal Zaidi CV
Bio
Dr. Zaidi joined the Geology and Geophysics Department at King Saud University in July 2008 and is currently a full professor. He has been actively involved in teaching and research activities at the department. He has more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and has worked as a Co-Investigator in several NPST funded projects besides working on a couple of projects funded by Royal Commission for Riyadh City and Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. His research interests include hydrochemistry and groundwater quality of arid regions, application of GIS technology in hydrogeological studies, and groundwater management with an emphasis on managed aquifer recharge in arid climates.
Dr. Zaidi was awarded Ph.D. in Geology from Aligarh Muslim University in 2006. He carried out his doctoral research from the Indo-French Center for Groundwater Research at CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad. He was a recipient of the "Sandwich Thesis Fellowship" of the French Government and spent a year at the hard rock aquifer unit of BRGM in Montpellier, France. He worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher in Water Program of the Science Sector at the UNESCO Office in New Delhi from April 2007 to May 2008.
