Ebtisam Ali Sadiq is a professor of English at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She is the first Saudi woman to be awarded professorship in the field of English Literature in the kingdom in 1997. She received her higher education in the USA (MA at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, California; PhD at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan). Her research interests include two English Romantic poets (Keats, Coleridge); two Victorian poets (Tennyson, Browning); Charlotte Bronte’s fiction and poetry; the American novelist Henry James; a contemporary American writer (Charles Baxter); Postcolonial Critical Theory and its application to World Literature in English (Saudi poet, Salman Rushdie). She authored a book on a British Muslim writer, Mohammad Marmaduke Pickthall, in 2016. She supervised 34 theses (20 PhD, 14 MA); examined 52 theses (30 PhD, 22 MA), and participated in many international conferences in the UK, the USA, and Canada.
