Dr. Ashwak Hassan Alshehri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at King Saud University. She obtained her PhD in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine in Ophthalmology from University College London (UCL), where her research focused on retinal repair, photoreceptor synaptogenesis, and visual restoration strategies using stem cell-derived retinal models.
Her academic and research interests include vision science, stem cell therapy, regenerative medicine, neuronal plasticity, retinal repair, and visual restoration. In addition to her research background, she is actively involved in undergraduate optometry education, clinical training, and academic development within the department.
