After suffering decades of fragile economic performance, Sudan has always been looking for new concepts: examining old paradigm, seeking optimum utilization for resources; nonetheless, tourism stands as a neglected sector in this mechanism.
The creative industries play a major role in generating, transforming and developing knowledge faster than the global economy as a whole in the recent years.
This paper serves as an introduction to tourism's creative economy potentialities, pointing out proposed impact on economic indicators: employment, investment, balance of payment, government revenues, etc.
Re-evaluating tourism as a creative economy based on characteristics of this brand, which encompass an enriching value chain, building human capacity; wide-base inclusive growth, and investing in cultural diversity.
It has been found that the tourism’s creative mix will contribute in shifting Sudanese economy from traditional track to sustainable development zone. Regarding its boundless opportunities, Sudan can provide tourism as emerging sector; contributes to achieving SDGs.
