Dr. Ridha Ahmed DJEMAL is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the King Saud University of Saudi Arabia, since September 2007, his research has been in the area of System Design, Image and video processing and encryption and Formal verification for System on Chip (SoC). The main theme of Dr. Djemal’s research work in the area of Design and Implementation of video application having a standard interfaces and Integrating the formal Verification in the Design flow. This work represents a very successful collaborative effort with the TELNET Firm in Tunisia and TansEda in France. Currently, he is a member of the Electronic and Microelectronic Laboratory in Monastir – Tunisia and a member of team working on the Hardware Design Implementation of Image Encryption and Radar Recognition (CFAR) Algorithms in the Electrical Engineering Department of the King Saud University.

 ·       HDR degree (Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches) in Physics and Electronics from the Sciences Faculty of Monastir, Electronics and Microelectronics Laboratory of Monastir, Tunisia. May 2005.

Subject: A contribution to the System on Chip Design (SoC).

 ·       Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics (Integrated Circuit Design) from Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble IT or INPG), Logiciels Systèmes et Réseaux Laboratory (LSR), France. Juin 1996.

Subject: Communication Processor Architecture based on Structured Associative Memory.

 ·       Master degree in Microelectronics (Integrated Circuit Design) from the Joseph Fourier University of Grenoble, Logiciels Systèmes et Réseaux Laboratory (LSR), France. Juin 1992.

Subject: Implementation of a router based on Wormhole routing technique between processors inside a cellular network.

·       Technical Manager and Responsible for the cooperation with the TELNET Company in Tunis- Tunisia (since 2003). This firm is devoted for the application of formal verification to the hardware design and developing a software environment to integrate Formal Verification Libraries in the Design Flow.

Research Interests

 ·         Communication System Design.

·         Simulation and modelling using many tools (C++, SystemC, ModelSim, Synopys, Quartix, etc).

·         Hardware design and interfacing.

·         Prototyping using prototyping system (Stratix II) and DSP based prototyping board (DM11, Sharc)

·         Formal Verification applied for Hardware design (Model Checking approach, Simulation based approach).
