Course Content
Man and Agriculture. Agriculture and world food. Origin centers of economic crops. Classification of crops. Environmental factors and agricultural crops. Cultural practices. Production systems. Crop plant propagation. Harvesting, handling and storage of crops. New trends in agriculture. Plant production in Saudi Arabia.
Course Objective
The aim of this course was to introduce students from all the Departments of the college of Food & Agricultural Sciences to basic knowledge of field and horticultural crops. Emphasis are put on most common crops of the Kingdom.
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to:
- Have the broad knowledge of crop cultivation practices.
- Have basic knowledge systems of crop production especially under arid land conditions.
- Have some knowledge on new trends in agricultural practices.

Students Assessment
Students will be assessed as follows:
- Two laboratory exams (30%)
