Ascending to erect glaucous shrub with white latex, woody below with corky bark, 1.5-4 m high. Leaves opposite, oblong to obovate, 10-25 cm long, 8-15 cm broad. Inflorescence an umbel-like cyme on primary peduncles about 5 cm long from the upper axils. Flowers showy, purple colored, 1-2 cm across. Fruit smooth or somewhat wrinkled, inflated, ovoid follicle, 8-15 cm long. Seed comose, wind dispersed |
