city or community. Ten main chapters are set up to discuss the issue of building legislation.

It first introduces students to the problems of urban and building legislation by outlining its

impact on shaping the city form and human activities. It then tackles the issue of Urban

regulations and building codes as a way to regulate and organize the building process. It

explains how the issues generated by non-conforming to by-laws can be overcome by building

legislation and coding
