PREVIOUS ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES IN MEDICAL EDUCATION
 
I was involved in the medical education center since it was started in 2001, as I was a member in the medical education board for 6 years, and the associate director of the center for skills training, during which I took the responsibility to establish the current state of art clinical skills facility in college of medicine, King Saud University.
From 2005 I was the vice director of the medical education center were I took the responsibility to prepare for the new medical curriculum in the college of medicine, where different tasks were accomplished ( staff development, personal needs of the new curriculum, physical need of the new curriculum) the new curriculum started in 2008.
During this period I took the responsibility to promote medical education as a specialty to prepare in establishing the medical education department, we encouraged our colleagues in scholarship to obtain medical education degrees, and we established an agreement with the medical education center in Dundee for the staff to have a diploma in medical education.

Establishing Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz College for Emergency Medical Services (PSCEMS)

Since September 2010 to July 2016, I took the responsibility in creating a completely new health school dedicated for emergency medical services, during which and with a dedicated team, we were able to establish a comprehensive health school including the administration, laboratories, teaching classes, recruiting an excellent teaching group, finishing the study plan and preparing the college for accreditation. Some of the functions I have administered in the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz College for EMS are as follows:
1. Executing an integrated strategy for the college approved by the Vice Rectorate of the University for Development compatible with the University’s plan 2030.
2. Recruiting skilled academic staff and developing their academic skills which are witnessed by all visitors of the college.
3. Developing the curriculum of the college in agreement with the American Accreditation Commission and the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment won the praise of all the specialists.
4. Furnishing the temporary college building(Administrative section, training labs, interactive lecture halls, members of the faculty offices and student affairs and activities).
5. Continuing the educational and academic environment in the college and activating the councils of the college, departments and the academic and administrative units. By the praise of Allah, the fourth batch will be graduated in this term, all our graduates who were employed,  won the praise of their employers and we have noticed desire of the recruitment agencies to attract our graduates.
6. Creating the different college units (development, quality, e-learning, studentaffairs, registration, Personnel, procurement, financial affairs, public relations and administrative communication).
7. Training an administrative and technical staff to manage the college labs and supervise the field training.
8. Establishing three Vice deanships for the college and activating the four college departments for supervising the curriculum and scholarship students.
9. Performing the cooperation agreement between the students and Saudi Red Crescent Authority, which has been signed by your excellency with his Royal Highness the Chairman of the Authority  through which the stations of the Saudi Red Crescent have been opened for training our college students.
10. Preparing the college for the academic accreditation from the American Commission for accrediting programs of emergency medical services and the National Commission for Academic accreditation and Assessment. Our self study has been sent to them and we are awaiting their visit as a last step for accreditation if God Wills.
11. Recruiting 3 Saudi assistant professors,22 demonstrators, out of them 11 on scholarship(3 Phd students), 15
of them from the distinguished college graduates and the rest are graduates of the United States and Australia.
12. Establishing Life Support Unit accredited by the American Heart Association as a specialized center for conducting first aid and CPR courses for training students, it has become more than fifty trained of our college students accredited by the American Heart Association and by the grace of God we are the first to achieve this.
13. Creating qualitative programs, where some of them have been adopted by the university for all colleges such as expert program. An agreement has been conducted with colleagues from the University of Stanford to teach in the college and a program of sending a group of distinguished intern students to spend part of their internship year in the United states. An agreement has been signed by your excellency with the University of Creighton. The first and the second batches have been sent and thanks God, the results of the experiment were wonderful.  
14. Receiving the first independent building for the college in the premises of King Saud University in Malaz (Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacology for Girls before) after being prepared by Vice Rectorate of the University for Projects which is a scientific oasis and we will be moving during the current academic year if God Wills.
15. We are proud of our distinct community service activities led by the project of “King Saud University saves a life” to train students of King Saud University to deal with emergency cases and the project of dealing with the emergency cases in the general educational curricula, and project of distributing the devices of CPR in the buildings of the university and other community activities.
16. Completing the designs and skitches of the permanent headquarters of the college and the Emergency Medical Services Center under the supervision of the Vice Rectorate of the University for Projects, allocating a piece of land for the project in the university premises with the support of your excellency. It is hoped to start implementing the project in the near future if God Wills.
17) Facilitated two International Forums  in the context of EMS education and Research for the purpose of refining the curriculum as well as for visualizing the directions in EMS Research.
18) Facilitated the cooperation and agreement between the college preparatory year and the PSCEMS for the establishment of a training center to train new preparatory year students in First Aid and CPR courses.

These qualitative achievements have been implemented in line with the university’s policy towards global excellence  and the mission of the college towards local leadership and global distinction.

I had the honor of being in the Saudi urology board for 12 years, where I was a member in the exam committee, and then became its director, we were having a very busy all year schedule in preparing and conducting the different levels urology exams.
I also had the honor to establish the Saudi pediatric urology fellowship, since 2005, which is the first Saudi urology subspecialty program, and it’s gaining an excellent reputation.

A summarization of my involvement in the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties is as follows:

1. I was the member of the Urology Examinations committee from 2002 – 2006 and I contributed the idea of the introduction of the OSCE exam in the final clinical examination which was the first of its kind in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

2. I also chaired the Program Setup Committee for Pediatric Urology and the program was declared as the first fellowship program as a sub-specialty in Urology.

3. I also chaired the Council Examinations Committee from 2006-2011 which proved to be the best committee for the excellence of its members. The work, during the four and half years, concentrated on the comprehensive development of the Council Examination System as a blue print that ultimately reached its perfection as a unique systematic examination offered by the Scientific Council of Urology as witnessed by all foreign and fellow participants who attended the exams during the last years.

4. I served as a member of the committee responsible for the restructuring of boards and committees and also conducted an oversight of the Committees Examinations Authority.

5. I served as a member of the committee that prepared the study to increase the capacity of all the programs in the body, which has been approved by the Executive Board and to initiate the start of work in it, and one of the goals was to open training centers outside the kingdom. One of them, the King Hussein Medical City in Amman, was approved by the Board of Urology.

6. I served as the president of the Scientific Council of Urology in the period from 2011 and 2014.

7. I was a member in the executive council of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties from 2010-2014.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES IN THE SAUDI UROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION
 
Other than being an active member in the Saudi urological association, I was the founder and editor-in-chief of the “Urology Annals” the official publications of the Saudi urological association “urologyannals.com”. Currently, we are in its 7th volume and became indexed in Pubmed four years ago.

I was a member in the board of the Saudi urological association from 2009-2012.

GRANT RESEARCH ACTIVITY
In addition to continuing our line of research, particularly in the field of conservative management if patients with neuropathic bladder, I have a research grand from King Abdullaziz city entitled “Total endoscopic management of patients with neuropathic bladder”.
