تتركز اهتماماتي البحثية على تقييم جودة تناول الأدوية والأمن الدوائي بما في ذلك تقييم استخدامات الادوية وسلامتها لدى المرضى كبار السن, كما تتركز ابحاثي حول البحوث المرتبطة بممارسات الصيدلة الاكلينيكية، و التيقض الدوائي ، واستخدام تكنولوجيا الهواتف الذكية في إدارة الأمراض و سلامة الدواء.
Tariq Alhawassi, who joined the College of Pharmacy in 2005 as a Teacher Assistant, is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at King Saud University. Prior to this, he had worked as a pharmacist at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. Tariq received his BSc. degree in Pharmacy from King Saud University-College of Pharmacy (Saudi Arabia, 2005), Master of Clinical Pharmacy from The University of South Australia (Australia, 2009) and was awarded a Ph.D. in Pharmacy on Quality Use of Medicines from The University of Sydney (Australia, 2015) for studies in antihypertensive drug utilization evaluation and risk of adverse drug reactions in hospital setting. Tariq is the Director of the Medication Safety Research Chair in King Saud University conducting primary and secondary medication safety source research. His current research interest focuses on pharmacovigilance including medication safety and drug use evaluation in geriatrics, pharmacy practice research, pharmacoepidemiology and the use of smartphone technology in disease management and drug safety.
Dr. Alhawassi has several peer-reviewed publications and scientific papers presented in multiple National and International conferences.
