Professor Hend S. Al-Khalifa is a dedicated academic and researcher in the field of computer science and artificial intelligence at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She serves as a Professor in the Information Technology Department of the College of Computer and Information Sciences.

Over the years, Professor Al-Khalifa has made contributions to her field through her research work, which has resulted in over 200 publications in various workshops, international conferences, and journals. Her work has received recognition, earning her an H-index of 40 and placing her among the most-cited scientists worldwide.

Professor Al-Khalifa's career has been marked by achievements such as awards, research grants, and involvement in academic conferences and journals. She has actively participated in the scientific community, bridging her scholarly work with practical applications.

In addition to her research contributions, Professor Al-Khalifa has served on the program committees of several international conferences in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), including NAACL-HLT, EMNLP, ACL-IJCNLP, ArabicNLP, ACLing, and IALP. She has also taken on leadership roles, chairing COLING2025 and WANP2022, as well as organizing the OSACT (The Workshop on Open-Source Arabic Corpora and Processing Tools) co-located with LREC for 10 years. Furthermore, she also serves as a reviewer on the ACL Rolling Review (ARR) and many international journals e.g. Data-in-Brief, IEEE Access, ACM Transactions on Asian and Low-Resource Language Information Processing, to name a few.

Professor Al-Khalifa's research interests include Arabic NLP, Semantic Parsing, Explainable AI, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Computers for People with Special Needs, reflecting her commitment to exploring diverse and impactful areas of computer science and artificial intelligence.
