أهمية علم الأحياء الدقيقة

يعتبر علم الأحياء الدقيقة من العلوم المهمة التي تتكامل مع العلوم الأخرى في مسيرة العلم الباحثة عن سبل رفاهية وسعادة البشرية جمعاء. وضع العلماء المسلمون اللبنات الأول في مسيرة هذا العلم، وتتابعت النجاحات وتضافرت الجهود ليبلغ هذا العلم ما هو عليه الآن. يشارك هذا العلم البشرية في جميع مناحي حياتها، ويكشف سر كائنات صغيرة جدا، منها النافع والضار، ويحمل في طياته سلاحا ذا حدين. سيكتشف المحب لهذا العلم بأنه بحاجة ماسة إلى القدر الكافي من المعرفة والمهارات والقيم التي تؤهله للاستفادة القصوى من هذا العلم، وفي نفس الوقت تجعله قادرا على مواجهة المخاطر التي قد تسببها تلك الكائنات الحية. تفرع علم الأحياء الدقيقة إلى علوم ذات أهمية قصوى لها علاقة بالصناعة والصحة والبيئة. ورغم أن العلم قد كشف النقاب عن أسرار تلك الكائنات الحية على المستوى الظاهري والكيموحيوي والتركيبي والوراثي وبلغ العلم مستوى تفاخر به البشرية إلا أن الكثير والكثير جدا ما زال في انتظار جهود باحثين وطلاب نابغين. إن الكائنات الحية الدقيقة قادرة على أن تلهمهم الطريق والطريقة التي من خلالها تتحقق الفائدة القصوى وتتضاءل المخاطر إلى أقل قدر ممكن، فقط علينا أن نحب العلم ونثمن الوقت "ولكل مجتهد نصيب".
