1. Getting the M.Sc. degree under an American Egyptian Program between Pittsburgh University Pennsylvania, United States of America and Ain-Shams University (1982-86). The Master Thesis was titled "Studies on solar energy System analysis and its storage techniques".
2. Getting the Ph.D. degree from Technical Clausthal University, West Germany, and Ain Shams University (1988-93).
The Ph.D. thesis was titled "Studies on Amorphous silicon solar cells"
3. Supervising on PhD. thesis titled "Annealing of compound semiconductors under controlled vapour pressure of volatile compounds", in Co-operation with the institute of applied Physics, Technical Clausthal University, Germany (1993-98).
4. Passing the integrated training course in Computer programming with grade very good from The computer center, Ain Shams University (1983).
5. Upgrading the electronic lab. For under- Graduate Physics students at the faculty of Science, Ain-Shams University (1996-97).
6. Developing the physics syllabi for both Under and post graduate students at the Faculty of science, Ain Shams University (1995).
7. Pioneering of the physics group at the Faculty of science, Ain shams University for Making electronic circuits and physics Experiments (1996-97).

Research work experience:
1. My research area is: III-V Semiconductor Materials and devices (e.g. Quantum dot & quantum well lasers, HBT & BJT transistors), Silicon on Insulator Technology (SOI), Ternary compound semiconductors CuInSe2, and Amorphous Silicon.
2. Growing of thin films and devices using Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE), Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), Evaporation, Electron beam, and Sputtering.
3. Fabrication of semiconductor devices
4. Thin film characterization using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HRTEM), Photoluminescence (PL), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Hall Effect and conductivity Measurements, RHEED, EDX, and AEG.
5. Electrical and optical Characterization of the Fabricated films and devices.
6. Characterization of solar cells parameters (design and performance) under normal and concentrated solar radiation.
7. Solar energy storage techniques.
8. The optical properties of thin film and bulk materials.

  أحمد محمد النجار حصل علي درجات البكالوريوس والماجستير والدكتوراه من جامعة عين شمس في مصر في أعوام 1980 و 1986و 1992 بالترتيب. كان باحث في أثناء مرحلة الدكتوراه في تصنيع وفحص خلايا السيليكون  المهدرجة الأمورفية الشمسية بجامعة كلاوستال التقنية في ألمانيا ( 1988-1991). عمل أستاذ مساعد بقسم الفيزياء –كلية العلوم جامعة عين شمس-القاهرة-مصر (1992-1999). كان باحث في مرحلة مابعد الدكتوراه يعمل في تصنيع وفحص الأكسيدات و مواد أشباه الموصلات من المجموعتين الثالثة والخامسة (من الجدول الدوري) وتصنيع الأدوات الكهروضوئية بجامعة نورث كارولينا ستيت وجامعة روتشستر بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية (1999-2002). عمل أستاذ مشارك بقسم الفيزياء -كلية العلوم-جامعة عين شمس-القاهرة- مصر (2002-2003 ) ثم أستاذ مشارك بقسم الفيزياء والفلك-كلية العلوم- جامعة الملك سعود-السعودية (2003-2013 ) . يعمل أستاذ بقسم الفيزياء والفلك-كلية العلوم- جامعة الملك سعود (2013-الآن). عضو في مجموعة الطاقة المتجددة والبيئة  (2003-الآن), عضو في كرسي أبحاث إستغلال تطبيقات الطاقة المتجددة في المملكة العربية السعودية ( 2014-الآن).
