Experiences

A :  In the Area of Information SYSTEMS

Academic Information systems (AIS):

  • Evolved (for almost ten years)  in the  selection , development, setup, testing  , training  and operation of the Academic Information system at King Saud University . Serving the main Campus in Riyadh and several campuses. System covers the admissions , registration, student records, course catalogue, course scheduling , grading, graduation, advisement,  and students stipend.

 

  • The experience at  King Saud University  in the Academic Information Systems  led to extend this technical  and professional experience to several other institutions , such as the Presidency of Girls Education , King Khalid University, Imam Mohammed Bin Saud University

 

Health Information systems (HIS):

  • In Charge of  implementation of the Health Information systems (HIS)  at King Khalid University Hospital. A sponsored  project by the Saudi-American joint economic commission. The developed system is still in operation at King Khalid  University Hospital. System covers  patient records, appointments, pharmacy , labs, nurse and staff schedules , outpatient clinical appointments and  inpatient administrations .

 

Human Resources Information systems(HRIS)

  • In Charge of  implementation of the Human resources Information systems (HIS)  at King Saud University . A  migration from a legacy system to an advanced relational database system , handling all aspects of  administration of faculty members and university staff.

 

Data migration  conversion and virevication

  • ivolved in  the supervision of data migrations verification and validation and integrity checks from various systems.

 

security aspects and control of use and access by users to the  resources and databases.

  • involved in designing and supervising, implementations of campus wide security system to all applications to ensure data integrity  and authentication of all sensitive operations in data manipulation and use . Also in auditing the different transactions done by users of different systems.

 

B :  In the Area of HiGHER EDUCATION RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT.

Involved in  putting the bylaws of the study system in the universities, thought the council of higher education.

  • involved in setting up  the National Center for Assessment. This is a center offers and conduct aptitude and achievements test used for entrance to the universities.
  • Participated in setting up the network of community colleges in the kingdom .  Community colleges which offers programs to  graduate students in various middleclass professional degrees in various fields and disciplines.
  • Participated within a team effort in preparation in the on going project of developing the strategic future plan in the higher education.
  • Involved in the planning and study of  establishing new  public universities in the Kingdom ( 11 universities in various parts of the Kingdom).
  • Participated within a team effort in the project of merging  (102 Girls colleges)  to the universities. These colleges used to be under the supervision of Ministry of Education.
  • Participated within a team effort in merging  (18 teachers colleges)  to the universities. These colleges used to be under the supervision of Ministry of Education.
  • Participated within a team effort in setting up the National Statistical Center for higher education.
  • Participated within a team effort in setting up the Geographical Information system for higher education.
  • Participated within a team effort in setting up the Center for distance and e-learning in the higher education.
  • Participated within a team effort in the planning and preparing detailed studies for the establishment of  new universities in the Kingdom. The  team effort resulted in the establishment of 9 new universities over a period of four years.
  • Participated within a team effort to establish the National Center for assessment and  accreditation of the higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia.
