Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ruwais is a professor of Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering department, College of Engineering, and Vice Rector of  King Saud University.

He is the President of The Saudi Telecommunication Society, Part-time Consultant to the Saudi Telecom Company (STC). He also provided technical consultancies to several government agencies including the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC), Ministry of Defense and Aviation and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). 

He carried several administrative positions including: Dean, College of Engineering, King Saud University and Director, College of Engineering Research Center.

He has over 30 scientific publications in international as well as regional journals and conferences. His research interests include: communication networks, electronic warfare, radar and laser systems, new trends in mobile communications, information security, technology transfer and electromagnetic radiation measurements and effects

He graduated from the Ohio State University in 1982 with Ph.D. in electrical engineering, obtained  M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, USA, in 1978 and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1976.

In 1983 he joined the Electrical Engineering Department King Saud University as an assistant professor and became a professor in 2002.
