observation room in emergency)

Course Objectives

1- Demonstrate competency in assessing and in performing physical examination of

adult patients in critical care units, recovery room and observation room.

2- Utilize the nursing process in delivery of nursing care to patient with different

needs/problems

3- Demonstrate skills in the safe use of equipments and monitors

4- Provide nursing intervention in compliance with unite policies and procedures

 

 

 

Students Clinical Objectives

By the end of this experience the students should be able to do:

1- Perform a complete head to toe physical examination

2- Interpret the ECG strip and differentiate between normal and abnormal

3- Know how to use critical care flow sheet

4- Provide nursing care for patient on mechanical ventilation

5- Provide nursing care for patient who have artificial airway/ tracheotomy.

6- Provide nursing care for patient requiring an ABG interpretation

7- Provide nursing care for patient who require chest tube

8- Provide nursing care for patient who require arterial line monitoring/ central line

monitoring

9- Provide nursing care for patient requiring a vasoactive & antiarrhythmics

10-Provide nursing care for patient who require Foley catheter /fluid balance

 

11-View patient require Hem dialysis

12-Provide nursing care for patient requiring intracranial pressure monitoring 13-

Provide nursing care for patient requiring enteral /parental feeding / feeding pump.
