Dr. Ahmed joined the Faculty of Management, at the University of Calgary as a Visiting Professor in January 1999 to teach RMIN 375 (Introduction to Insurance and Risk management), and FNCE 479 (Corporate Risk Management) at the undergraduate level and FNCE 763 (Corporate Risk Management) for the MBA program.
Dr. Ahmed is an associate professor of Risk Management and Insurance in the Department of Risk Management and Insurance at the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University, Egypt.
He received his Ph.D. from Cairo University, Egypt in 1991 and he has served in the Department of Risk Management and Insurance at the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University since 1978.
In addition to teaching, research and supervising post and undergraduate students, he was also a trainer for insurance company’s employees.
He is an Insurance Expert and Consultant at the Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority, and he is a Consultant and Researcher in Risk Management and Insurance at the Research and Commercial Studies Center, Cairo University.
He spent his sabbatical leave (mid August 1998 to beginning of January 1999) in the Department of Actuarial Science, at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
He has seven published books and ten published papers in the area of Risk Management, Insurance and Mathematics of Finance.
