I am an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department, College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS), King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I first joined KSU as a Teaching Assistant in 1990.

  I received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with highest honors, from The American University in Cairo, 1990. I have an MSc in Computer Science from The American University in Cairo, 2000. I received my PhD in Computer Science from Cardiff School of Computer Science and Informatics, Cardiff University, UK, 2010.

I am a senior member in The International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT), and a co-editor of the CCIS page in the KSU newspaper.

Areas of research interest:

Heuristics, Meta-heuristics, Combinatorial Optimization, Vehicle Routing Problems, Algorithms Analysis and Design, Nature Inspired Algorithms.
