Translate the following into Arabic:
· In the 19th century, modern surgery was made possible by two important discoveries: the invention of safe methods of anesthesia and the control of wound infection by the use of antiseptics and sterile equipments. Also in this century, a set of diagnostic procedure – requiring a complete case history and a thorough physical examination – became common medical practice.
· Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) is an ingredient that was used in many over-the-counter and prescription cough and cold medications as a decongestant and in OTC weight loss products. The FDA issued a notice for over-the-counter nasal decongestants containing phenylpropanolamine preparations. The FDA re-classified PPA as nonmonograph (Category II) which cannot be recognized as safe and effective. It was also proved that there is an association between PPA and hemorrhagic stroke. In addition, consumers can identify any over-the-counter product containing this ingredient by looking for “phenylpropanolamine” in the list of active ingredients.
