Contents:

Students taking this course are expected to have a thorough understanding of the following items by the end of the semester:

1.                  Introduction

2.                  Types and orientations of stereoplotting instruments

3.                  Coordinate Systems; Comparator, image and object systems

4.                  Coordinate transformations;  2-D conformal, 2-D affine, and 3-D conformal

5.                  Pass point identification and transfer; Comparator measurements; Image coordinates refinement

6.                  Derivation of Collinearity equations, linearization of collinearity equation;

7.                  Analytical space resection and space intersection; Analytical relative orientation of stereopairs

8.                  Introduction to Strip and Block adjustment

9.                  Definitions and applications of terrestrial photogrammetry,

10.              Mathematical models in terrestrial photogrammetry; 

11.              Automation in terrestrial photogrammetry.

 

Grading:

            Midterm Exams                        =          40%                

            Homework and quizzes =          20%    

            Final Exam                               =          40%
