Bio
Dr. Basel Shadid holds Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from
McMaster University (Ontario, Canada), M.Sc. in Industrial and
Manufacturing
Engineering from Cleveland State University (Ohio, USA), and B.Sc in
Mechanical Engineering from University of Jordan (Amman, Jordan). Dr.
Shadid’s research is focused on Production Systems Management, Intelligent Maintenance Systems, Industrial Automation, Temporal Data Mining, and Manufacturing
Execution
Systems. Dr. Shadid worked in General Motors of Canada for 10 years in
St. Catharines Powertrain
Complex and on several projects with GM R&D - Manufacturing
Research Lab in Warren Tech Center. For his distinguished
research in the area of plant control and monitoring systems, he was
awarded GM highest
award for technical innovation, the “Boss” Kettering award, in 2007.
Dr. Shadid joined the faculty of Industrial Engineering in
KSU in September 2009.
