AHMAD ALHAMWI

Biography

Ahmad Alhamwi was born in Damascus (Syria) on 1973; He entered his university education at the age of 18 and adopted a course of medical engineering as future career. This course is 5 years duration fulltime. His specialization is in biomedical engineering (BME). He has served Military Medical Services as the chairman of BME department for 2 years (1996-1998) beside he has taken the responsibility of project manager and executed many medical hospitals program.

There after, he got a scholarship from the Syrian ministry of high education to continue his study, he went to Germany in the year 1999 to study master program in the field of BME. He got his master degree on 2002 from the Munster University of applied sciences and he was the best master graduate. His master thesis was about the enhancement of Positron emission tomography. This work has been nominated for the best student's work in biomedical engineering in German Universities in 2002. In continuation of his study in Germany he has taken a specified research program in college of medicine at university of Muenster where he was responsible for assisting research studies in his field.

Since December 2003 he is serving as Lecturer and training coordinator in the department of Applied Medical Sciences (AMS) of king Saud University (KSU). He published many paper and spook in many conferences related to BME and he is member of the German society of biomedical engineering and he is senior engineer in the Syrian Engineers Union also he is  a member of editorial board of the journal "biomedical engineering research".

 In 2008 he got the scientific committee trophy for his speech in the first conference on biomedical and clinical engineering in the Arab countries also he got the KSU rector prize for the academic staff home page.
