OBJECTIVES:
Introducing the problems encountered in measuring a living system, understanding the origin of bio-potentials, genesis of different bio-potentials and their parameters, bio-electrodes and bioelectric amplifiers and signal processing, ability to understand function of basic transducers, understand the structure of biomedical instrumentation systems, develop an ability to analyze biomedical instrument using acquired basics.
DESCRIPTION:
Introduction to biometrics, components of man-instrument system, problems encountered in measuring a living system, basic transducer principles, origin of bio-potentials, bioelectric amplifiers and instrumentation amplifier, biopotential electrodes. Introduction to ECG, EGG and EMG.
Practical:
practical (lab) constitutes 25% of the course. Students are evaluated in practical classes according to attendance, lab reports and final reports (research).
