Course Description: 

Carbohydrate metabolism. Glycolysis and production of pyruvate. TCA cycle. Gluconeogenesis. Glycogenesis. Pentose phosphate pathway shunt & photosynthesis. Defects in carbohydrate metabolism. Digestion and absorption of lipids. Lipoprotein metabolism, lipogenesis and lipolysis in adipose tissue. Oxidation of fatty acids. Biosynthesis of fatty acids. Metabolism of triglycerides and phospholipids. Steroids metabolism. Defects in lipid metabolism.
