On 16 September 2007, I joined Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences, College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh.

After finishing my PhD from Reading University, UK, I contributed to the research and teaching programmes at Oxford Brooks University, Oxford; Open University, UK, and Cardiff University, UK. Prior to joining King Saud University, I was working at the Ophthalmology Department, Oxford University, Oxford with Prof A J Bron on corneal structure. During my academic career I have published 32 papers and presented 25 conference presentations. Most of my papers were on corneal dystrophies. One of my papers on granular dystrophies was published in Archives of Ophthalmology and was chosen as the best paper of that issue.
