This course is designed to introduce the students to principles and methods of quantitative and qualitative research. Provides a foundation for understanding research as an essential component of evidenced base practice and core competency of nursing practice. The methods of scientific inquiry, problem identification, use nursing theories and conceptual methods, research design, data collection and analysis, and the ethical considerations are applied to the development of a research proposal. Basic skills for evaluating and critiquing the components of research study are emphasized.
