COURSE  DESCREPTION

 

1. COURSE 121 (HUMAN ANATOMY) :

It is for the first year students.

It is theoretical and practical course.

It is designed to enable the students to :

A. Use anatomical terms both in oral as well as in written descriptions.

B. Describe the structural components of the skeleton (axial & appendicular), limbs, (cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urogenital) systems.

C. Correlate the structures of these systems with their functions.

D. Study the effect of the  various nerve and vascular injury on both structure and function.

 

2.  COURSE 123 (EMBRYOLOGY)  :

It is for the first year students.

It is a theoretical course.

It is designed to enable the students to study :

Cell division.

Female reproductive cycles.

Fertilization, implantation and ectopic pregnancy.

Placenta and fetal membranes.

Formation and derivatives of germ layers.

Development of the different body systems.

Some of the common anomalies related to the development of the different organs.

 

3. COURSE 124 ( HUMAN ANATOMY) :

It is for the second year students.

It is both theoretical and practical course.

A. First Semester (HEAD & NECK) :

The student should be able to study the gross anatomy of the head and neck regarding :

Skeleton .

Structural anatomy of the soft tissues .

Functional anatomy ( glands & joints).

Structural and functional anatomy of the special senses.

Radiological anatomy of the head and neck.

 

 

 

B. SECOND TERM ( NEURO ANATOMY) :

The student studies :

Gross morphology of the brain and spinal cord.

Internal structure and organization of the brain and spinal cord.

Neurohistology.

 

4. COURSE 112 ( HUMAN ANATOMY AND EMBRYOLOGY) :

It is for the students of the college of dentist.

It is both theoretical and practical course.

It aims to study :

Anatomical terms and human general biology.

Detailed anatomy of the head and neck.

Human general embryology.

Development of ( face, palate, tongue and skull).

 

5. COURSE 221 ( HUMAN ANATOMY) :

It is for PHARMACY students.

          It is both theoretical and practical.

It aims to provide the students with information about :

Different systems of the body.

Correlation between the different structures and functions of the body.
