 1. Teaching and Supervisory Activities:

 He has participated in the Soil Science syllabus for the College of Nutrition and Agriculture at King Saud University and taught students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 He has supervised postgraduate research at the Masters and Doctoral level for various Saudi universities.

 He has been an external examiner for postgraduate research related to soil science as well as to water and desert studies.

 2. Applied Research:

   2008 to the present – Chairman of the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Chair for Water Research which is currently conducting research into: "Rainfall-runoff harvesting in Saudi Arabia under the effects of climate change"

 2008 to the present – Principal investigator for the project entitled: "A Study on the Minimization of Flood Hazards for Riyadh"

 2006-2008 – Head of the research team for the Space Image Atlas of Saudi Arabia, which published by the Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charitable Foundation in 2008 (ISBN 8-011-57-9960)

 2004-2006 – Principal investigator for the project entitled: "Use of Remote Sensing Technologies in the Study of Desertification and Its Minimization in the Ahsaa Oasis"   

  2004 to the present – Principal investigator for the King Fahd Rainwater and Runoff Harvesting Project
