  • National project on surveillance of antibiotic resistance in the Kingdom (25 Hospital around the Kingdom) sponsored by King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology (KACST) from 2000 to 2005 costing (US $ 200,000).

 

  • Surveillance of antibiotic resistance of respiratory isolates within the Kingdom (grant from GSK).

 

  • Surveillance of antibiotic resistance in ICU isolates from Hospital around the Kingdom (grant from MSD and Astra Zenica).

        I worked as part time consultant or as advisor for a number of    industrial pharmaceutical companies to  

       established and organizing laboratories investigation studies and clinical trial and also discussing issues  

        related to manufacturing and quality  Control and participating in the developments of strategies for the   

        futures.

·        Grant from the Scottish Research Council for Ph.D. Studies (1973-1977).

 

·        Two Merit Awards awarded by King Saud University as honorarium of two months salary (1980 & 1981).

 

·        Grant from the Ministry of Health, Riyadh to investigate the problem of meningococcal meningitis during Hajj to recommend the possible ways to reduce the epidemic in future 1989-1991 (costing US$ 20,000)

 

·        Grant from Arab Co. for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances (ACDIMA), Amman, Jordan to study  justification of antibiotic combinations manufactured by some Arab Pharmaceutical Companies (1992-1995 (costing US $ 40,000)

 

·        Grant from Saudi Pharmaceutical Industry and Medical Appliances (SPIMACO) to student formulation and evaluation of an alcohol free mouthwash (available in the market) (2000 – 2001(costing US $ 20,000).

 

·        Participated as an Investigator for the Lomofloxacin International Surveillance Trials. 1997-2000.

 

·        Member of the Investigators group of the International Committee to test the susceptibility of clinical isolates against various antibiotics supported by WHO (Chairman, Professor J. Lacy, Leeds, U.K.) (1988)

 

·        Grant from KACST to study the Microbial contamination of paper   money 2004-2005 (US $ 20,000).
