Abstract: Profiles early childhood education (ECE) in the United States; discusses its child-care and educational functions, program accessibility, and the accreditation system of the National Association for the Education of Young Children; and examines the potential of adopting the U.S. accreditation model in Saudi Arabia. Concludes that implementing an ECE accreditation system in Saudi Arabia would have several benefits. (KB)
