 1. BA in English Language from the College of Education, King Saud         University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 1976. 

 2.    MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from School of Education,

   University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas 1982

3.    Ph.D. in Teaching English as a Second Language from School of Education, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas 1985.

 

Experiences: 

1. Taught English Language to High School students in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 1977-1979.

2. Teaching Assistant at College of Arts, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 1979-1980.

3. Assistant Professor at King Saud University. Teaching English Language to college students both undergraduates and graduates 1985 to present.

 

Responsibilities:

1. 1977 - 1979

Besides holding a position as an English Language teacher at the high school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I was also responsible for guiding students and looking after their progress at school and meeting with their parents whenever needed.

2. 1979 - 1980

Besides holding a position as a Teaching Assistant, I was responsible for guiding college students and helping in their registration. I, also, was a member of the social activities committee which organized students’ social activities and field trips.

3. 1986 – 1987

Besides holding position as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I was a member of the Center of European Languages and Translation Council. I, also, was the coordinator for English 101 committee responsible for designing the final exams.

4. 1987 - 1988

Besides holding a position as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University, I was assigned as the coordinator of the English Language Intensive Program for College of Administrative Sciences students both undergraduates and graduates.

5. 1988 - 1990

Besides holding a position as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University, I was assigned as the Assistant Director for the Center of European Languages and Translation.

6. 1989 - 1991

I was assigned as a member of the High Council of the College Community Service and Continuing Education at King Saud University. I also, was assigned as the coordinator of the English language program there.

7. 1991 – to the present

I was assigned as the head of Academic Advisory Committee for the students at the Institute of Languages and Translation (ILT). I was, also assigned as the head of committee for Teaching Staff Affairs at ILT. 

8. 1990 – 1992

I was assigned as the Director of the Asian Languages and Translation Department in the Institute of Languages and Translation (ILT). I am a member of the ILT Council.

9. 1992 – 1994

I was assigned as the Director of Language Unit at ILT. I was, also, assigned as a member of the University Center for women students’ council.

10. 2002 – 2003

I was assigned as a member of the College of Languages and Translation Council.

11. 2002 – 2006

I was assigned as a member of the College of Languages and Translation Research Center.

 

Interests:

Teaching English to Foreign students.

Teaching, talking and writing about cultures.

Designing English Language school curricula.

Supervising English Language teachers.

Presenting educational and cultural talks on the radio.

Writing social and educational articles in newspapers and magazines.
