Research interests

Many research topics have been conducted in this Laboratory with preference to the following topics:-

-          Research on termites that deals with collection and identification of termites from different parts of Saudi Arabia.

-          Research on red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, which is considered to be the most destructive insect pest attacking date palm trees in Saudi Arabia. The researches have been focused on the biology, behavior, ecology and control the pest.

-          Also many research topics concerning aphids have been carried out in the ELL. Focusing on the survey of aphids from different locations of Saudi Arabia, host plants and description of two aphid species new to science (new species).  

Many researches also have been conducted concerning stored food product insect pests especially that attacking dates, wheat grains and plus seeds. Other physical  methods such as gamma irradiation and Co2 have been applied as an alternative and more saved methods to control stored date insects pests
