PERIPHERAL NERVES II
Although unmyelinated C fibers do not innervate the specialized skin or muscle receptors nor the motor units, they represent the largest proportion of axons in a nerve (fig 24-13).
KS&J modified from Table 22-1, p. 432
A = myelinated
C = unmyelinated
The distribution of nerve fibers differs for a deep muscle nerve vs. a superficial cutaneous nerve. C fibers in both represent afferent C and efferent (sympathetic) C axons.
