Research Interests:
I am working now as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology Department, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I obtained my B. Pharmacy degree from the same college in the year 1998. I was then selected as a Teaching Assistant in Pharmacology, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in the year 1998. Later, I proceeded to USA for higher studies and joined East Carolina University, North Carolina. I was the recipient of a Graduate Student Travel Award from American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, Experimental Biology, Annual Meeting, Washington, D.C., U.S.A., in the year 2004.
I was deeply involved in research and obtained skills and perfection in advance techniques related to Neurological Sciences. In addition to having professional skills in advance techniques related to Stereotaxic surgery, I had sufficient training and background in behavioral studies. I become specialized in techniques of drug monitoring in vulnerable areas of brain.
As a Ph. D student, I was attached with very advanced type of research assignment on “Behavioral interaction between ethanol and acute/chronic nicotine: role of glutamate/nitric oxide/cyclic GMP signaling pathway in mouse cerebellum”. I have published three very interesting research papers in journals of international repute (Brain Research Bulletin, Alcohol Clinical and Experimental Research and Neuroscience). As a student in the US, I attended very significant conferences and symposia. These are (i) The Canadian Congress of Neurological Sciences 2006 Annual Scientific Meeting, Montreal, Quebec, Canada (ii) Experimental Biology 2004 Annual Meeting, Washington, D.C., USA (3) 34th Annual Meeting for the Society of Neuroscience, San Diego, California, USA. In addition, I have professional membership of Saudi Pharmaceutical Society and American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
On returning to my home country, I joined College of Pharmacy in the year 2005 and was attached with teaching pharmacology, toxicology, neuropharmacology to undergraduate and graduate students. Subsequent to joining King Saud University, I have been selected as an active member of several committees in the college. Recently, I was given the additional charge as the Director of the Experimental Animal Care Center. The center is manned by a dozen employees and is one of the biggest of the animal facilities in the Gulf. It caters the provision of different species of experimental animals throughout Riyadh and other provinces of the Kingdom. On the research arena, within a short time, after joining, I worked on the protection studies related with Propionyl-1-carnitine on cisplatin-induced cardiomyopathy and published a research article in Pharmacological Research.

3. دراسة تأثير الأدوية والمواد التي تؤثر على ردود الفعل الحركية.
4. دراسة التأثير الناتج من إرتباط الدواء بالمستقبلات الحيويه في المخ.
