124 Neuroanatomy

·        Gross anatomy of head & neck (H&N) including osteology of the skull and cervical vertebrae

  • Neuroanatomy: لross morphology of brain and spinal cord and internal structure and organization of brain and spinal cord

Objectives:

  • The course is designed to provide the students with a basic knowledge of the morphological, structural and functional anatomy of the different contents of the head and neck.
  • Terminal objectives. At the end of this course, the student should be able ato:
  1. o   Identify the bones forming the skeleton of the head and neck. (Skull and cervical vertebrae).
  2. o   Describe the structural anatomy of the soft tissue components of the head and neck (i.e. muscles, vessels, nerves, glands etc.)
  3. o   Describe the functional anatomy of the components of the head and neck (joints, glands etc.).
  4. o   Describe the radiological anatomy of the head and neck.
  5. o   Describe the structural and functional anatomy of the special sense organs.

Required textbook: Human Brain by John Nelton. 5th edition. Publisher Mosby.

  1. Boody supply to Brain.
  2. Spinal cord. 
  3. The visual system.
  4. The cerebellum.
  5. Control of eye movement.
